Thank Bingus - NO MORE STARTUP BUGS!!
Bungie, since season 1, I, among others, have logged in and had to continuously uninstall BattleEye to reinstall in hopes/prayer that the game will successfully launch; usually 7/8 tries my computer will force restart due to a random issue.
HOWEVER, since start of season 2, I have not had a SINGLE startup issue. No reinstall of BattleEye, no verification of files on Steam install, nada! I’ve logged in both today and yesterday with no problem whatsoever.
Idk what it is but someone on your team needs to snapshot these servers and files as they are configured now for the community; I really hope this is the status quo, as it should be for any rig with the specs to run this game.
I have an RTX2080 with an i7 CPU. More than capable of playing this game. Just really hope these startup woes are done for good.
Just wanted to make it known that others like me may not be having the startup issues anymore. It’s about time.

Thanks for letting us know. That's great news! I'm glad to hear Marathon has been working smoothly for you since the launch of Season 2. Performance tuning is a high priority at the moment, and we want to make sure the game is accessible for different PC specs.

As if on cue Bungie, Version 1.1.0.1 released messed it up. I didn’t Play when the Patch dropped but just tried to get on three times today before getting rebooted. I’m done. Here’s your stop code:

Don’t feel obliged to respond or recommend a “work around“ to something that was working fine at the season’s start. This thread is just for purposes of one data point of it working flawlessly and then stopping out of nowhere.
Look into your patch codes. I know I’m not the only one. But maybe the only one who has continued to stick with this game through forced reboots - call me a sucker for punishment.
