Marathon Open Play Week not available on Xbox Series X in Canada
Hi Bungie / Marathon Support,
I’m in Toronto, Canada, using an Xbox Series X with an active Game Pass Core subscription.
I’m trying to access Marathon during the June 2-9 Open Play Week. Bungie’s Season 2 post says Open Play Week includes the full game on Xbox Series X|S, and the server/update status page says Open Play Week players should have been able to log in starting June 2 at 12:00 PM PDT.
However, on the Xbox Canada store, Marathon still only appears as a paid purchase. I see the sale price, but there is no Free Trial, Install, Get, Demo, Free Play Days, or Open Play option. I have restarted the console and checked the store/game page again, but it still only offers purchase.
Can you confirm whether Open Play Week is available for Xbox players in Canada, and whether there is a known Microsoft Store entitlement issue preventing free access?

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear you're unable to access the Open Play build for Marathon. Just checking the obvious, are you viewing the store page for Marathon Standard Edition and not Deluxe Edition?
If you're still unable to view and download Open Play, please let me know here with some screenshots or a video of your store page showing that there is no option to download the free build. You can upload your clips to a public hosting platform like YouTube or Imgur and share a link here.

Surprising and strange, although I did read online that there were some problems deploying Season 2 so perhaps their attention was elsewhere?
Does Bungie check these threads? Or is this just self-management?

Thanks for responding to the thread.
I'm not home right now, but I'm able to log-in to the XBOX store through my mobile app.
Attached are pictures demonstrating that the free play download isn't an option, for both the standard and deluxe editions.
I'm logged-in to my account too.
