Rebinding R1 on PS5 breaks ability to use pickpocket drone tether

After rebinding Open Equipment Radial menu to hold R1 and changing Use Equipment to tap R1 (to resolve the two conflicting when Use Equipment was set to press) the thief's pickpocket drone tether (R1) now no longer works. It seemingly changes to X I think in the settings, but that doesn't work when pressed either.

I've seen someone else mention this problem on reddit, so it might be the case that any sort of rebinding of R1 breaks it - not just my specific rebind.

Any solution?

Hi. I first noticed it a couple days ago but assume the issue may have been present since launch. I realised I was incorrect when I previously said it might be changing the tether ability to X (that's just altitude lock like normal). What confuses me is there is the ability to rebind "craft secondary action" (L1 by default) but that doesn't do anything even if I change it, meanwhile the option for rebinding the tether doesn't appear to exist - the root of the problem?

Here is a clip showing my re-bind settings for Equipment radial and then trying to use the drone's tether to no effect while spamming R1. Before I decided to rebind to make changing equipment easier R1 for the tether always worked.
