Mouse Dragging

The game runs very well and looks good. I get consistent FPS, no laggy behaviour whatsoever.
But if I move my mouse, especially diagonally, the movement gets 'dragged,' then it builds momentum and repeats the pattern later. This is frustrating and makes the game borderline unplayable.
Im assuming it's a polling issue with my mouse. I updated the BIOS, which helped a little bit.

Any help? I am way past the recommended specs of the game.

It's not a wireless mouse
Mouse Acceleration is off.
I also changed it off from the AppData\Roaming\Bungie .old file.
Windows Precision is off.
V-Sync has been tried on and off, no change.
Steam and Discord Overlays are off.
AMD Anti-Lag, Frame Generation settings, etc., have been tested on and off.

The game runs *best* in a certain memory HMz setting (I think 2677 or so, which I could not keep after the BIOS update)

I would love to give the game a fair chance, as it's in a genre I like a lot. The aesthetics are amazing, and I've played about 4 hours even with this issue, but it causes my arm and wrist to fatigue to always (over) correct every single movement, but i cannot make a purchase of it and continue if I cant actually play.

Thank you for your time and help.

Time: When the game loads me into the 'world' and i gain control of my character in first person. Every menu works flawlessly.

I found a partial fix by changing the Anti-Aliasing out from AMD to something else i forgot.

The game was pretty much perfect when my HMz was in a different polling rate earlier. The movement is also pretty good if I undershoot my Endgame OP18k mouse from 1000 DPI to 500 (I assume it's 500), but this makes every other movement in the menus a slog.

  • There were a few occasions I had the same problem. It happened to me when my 4 core 6700k started choking with 100% load because OS decided to launch some background process, CPU became overwhelmed and started scheduling even mouse inputs. Game is incredibly heavy on CPU and 4 core CPUs must be dedicated to the game entirely without any disturbances. Check your mouse system requirements, high polling rate requires modern CPU and you somehow have less FPS than my 11 years old antediluvian artifact squeezes out. DPI is a marketing trap, it's just a sensitivity setting. You own "Endgame" mouse but don't have endgame gear that can run it. Reduce your polling rate to 1k and the problem will be gone (unless your pc starts scheduled search indexing or antivirus check while you play).

  • This actually cleared the issue.

It was about the polling rate of the mouse. I assume that when I flashed the BIOS and updated the mouse firmware, it reset to default.
I changed it down to 2000, and now the mouse runs smoothly in the game.

I bought the game, and very happy and relieved I can now enjoy it 100%.
Thank you for your help and time.
