Player may not be able to pick quest item back up if they drop it from inventory
Happened this morning while doing the NuCal Selection Pressure [1/4] contract. I picked up the Command Module from the Commander in AI Uplink, a minute later I dropped it from my inventory by accident, the Command Module was then simply lying on the floor of the basement, visible but without the E button prompt to pick it back up like any other item.
