30-50 fps on modern laptop setup

Throughout the playtest I was getting 30 fps on detected settings with no significant applications open, changing video settings had no significant effect on FPS. FPS rarely went over 50, usually around 40. I see others reporting lows of 54fps on 10-series gpus so the performance i'm getting seems very strange even though it is a laptop.
