Assassin Patience Core unintended behavior?

During the slam once I got the "Patience" core for assassin which gives you the ability to pause the invisibility timer at the expense of your heat meter I noticed when in smoke my heat meter would increase, bypassing the shroud passive ability it seems. I'm not sure if this is intentional behavior since I could see some potential synergy with the mod chip that gives you more non precision damage when overheated but I have to imagine it's not since it essentially turns the core into a nerf if you are in smoke.
Steps to Reproduce: use the Patience core on assassin and stand still while in the smoke to activate the shroud passive.
