Error code: potato

Trying to play the server slam on pc. 

• launch game
• loads to start screen 
• click left mouse button
• shows "signing in" in the bottom right
• screen goes black and shows error box
• went to bungie.net 
• found thread from D2 and followed troubleshooting steps

Any advice?
