Feedback on Matchmaking Times / Proposal for Multi-Queue or Random Map Queues

Hi everyone,

I’ve been playing Marathon since day one and I absolutely love the game. However, I feel there is one major area that needs improvement: the queue times to get into a match.

Ever since I started playing, I’ve had to wait a long time to find a match—usually over 5 minutes. In an extraction shooter where you can load in and potentially get eliminated within the first 2 minutes, waiting this long feels disproportionate. There have been times where the frustration of knowing I have to wait so long, just to potentially spend less time actually playing, has made me close the game. I really don't want this to happen because when I'm actually in a match, the gameplay is spectacular.

I believe that having a separate queue for each individual map is one of the main reasons for this. For comparison, I’ve played a lot of Hunt: Showdown, and this doesn't happen there because the game uses a single queue that places you into a random map (looking at solo/duo queues in both games).

A possible solution could be allowing players to queue for multiple maps simultaneously—for example, searching for Perimeter and Marsh at the same time, and joining whichever fills up first. Alternatively, a random map queue could also consolidate the player base.

Just to add some context, I am playing from South America, so this might be an issue amplified by regional player density, but I wanted to share this because I love the game and truly want to see it succeed and improve.

Thanks for reading, and I hope we get some matchmaking updates or tweaks in the future!
