Error WEASEL on startup / after a few seconds (never played before)

Hi, I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.

He's getting the WEASEL error almost immediately after launching the game. Sometimes it happens right when opening it, and other times he manages to get into a match for a few seconds before getting kicked out with the same error.

Important details:

  • He has never played Marathon before
  • The error happens every time he tries to play
  • It occurs both on startup and shortly after entering a match

We already tried basic troubleshooting (different network, restart, etc.) and the issue persists.

Has anyone experienced this or knows what could be causing it?

    We understand your friend is encountering the Weasel error code when launching Marathon. We're sorry to hear of this, as we can imagine how this may have caused concern. While we realize basic troubleshooting has not addressed this error message, has your friend tried Advanced Troubleshooting? If yes, then please let us know and we'll review.

  • These people are so incredibly lazy its funny. They wont do anything. The error code weasel is an issue on Bungies end, but instead of admitting their fault they put it on the player and say its your network issue.
