PS5 Voice Chat/Prox Chat Feedback
On PS5 I believe there is a bug with the new "tap to talk" prox chat feature.
I activated the tap to talk feature in Social settings. When in game, the experience is as follows:
-Tap button
-Mic icon turns red for prox chat
-I start speaking, and red icon goes back to white (crew chat) immediately. I believe the auto-off feature is too sensitive and/or should just be removed. Let it be a simple toggle on, toggle off.
I tested this, and if I start speaking or making noise BEFORE I tap prox chat, only then will my icon STAY red and transmit my voice. But that defeats the purpose. If I'm saying "hey what's up" the mic only picks up "up".
Additionally, a point of feedback on PS5 voice chat. When playing without a headset, PLEASE make other player voices come out of the system audio and NOT the controller. It's extremely difficult to hear people even with the system controller volume set high. I literally find myself holding the controller to my ear to talk to people. Or if you can boost the controller audio that works too.

Regarding the issue you're experiencing the prox chat, though, could you try to capture a brief video demonstrating the issue you're describing? You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here and we’ll be glad to take a look.
My apologies, it appears the latest patch fixed this but it wasn't originally in the notes. However I'd still like to suggest strongly making the prox chat audio come from the system audio and NOT the PS5 controller speaker. It's incredibly hard to hear people and I have all audio set to 10 in the game, including voice chat. My controller audio is set high on the PS5 system settings too.
