PlayStation pinging issue
Hello, so I have circle set to melee and double tap for runner shell ability, but for some reason it pings and it shouldn’t because I have pings set to the up directional button. It’s annoying because when I want to melee or use the ability it pings first sometimes so I can’t use the ability in that moment when I needed it. What should I do? Or is there any way to fix this bug

We understand you're experiencing issues with your button assignment with your controller and Marathon. If you assign melee and double-tap to different buttons, do you still experience this behavior with pinging? Please let us know, and we'll review.
Yeah I’ve tried different configurations same issue, I just don’t understand how I’m pinging with the circle button when it’s not assigned to that at all

Same situation even with the dual sense edge controller. I mapped to directional pad the ping action but when I hold circle to activate my trait ability, I ping as well. This can cause confusion amongst my teammates, especially in moments when I want to point out AOI or an enemy. I have tried multiple iterations of mapping and came across the same result or even worse outcomes.
It would be great if we can some help on this matter.

These details help our investigation. Concerning what you experience, does this only seem to happen when you're ADSing? Or is the only thing which appears necessary for reproducing this for you to rebind the keys in question, as you've described?

I appreciate the follow up - In regard to my experience, for example, I main Thief; I mapped by trait ability to be activated by HOLDING circle. However, I can only activate it when I am ADS, thats when the ability and pings happen.
In a different button mapping situation - I had my trait ability switched to PRESS circle, and my quick melee to PRESS R1. That seemed to have worked in terms of preventing ping and activating my trait ability without ADSing. But, when I then use my drone, I press the primary action button (doesn't matter what button I set it too), it doesn't activate as intended ( such as if i have my primary action set as PRESS R1), it doesn't activate when I press R1, I would have to HOLD R1 and then it pings as well.
If possible, is there a way to communicate directly, I wouldn't mind sharing recorded gameplay of this experience.
