MnK still not working properly

So I had this issue during the server slam.

Switched to controller and all was good. No more random meleeing, clicking not working, mouse lag, character randomly looking around, and drifting. Controller fixed it.

Yet, I gave MnK a shot again just now, and the issue still persists! I have every conceivable overlay turned off, following nearly every guide conceived, and still have issues. Switched cables on my keyboard, tried a different mouse, and nothing. I know it isn't a lack of hardware, as the game ran fine on my laptop when I was using a controller. Just when I use MnK, I have issues.

I'm running on an RTX3060 ROG Zephyrus Laptop, primary screen.

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand that mouse and keyboard aren't working with Marathon. We've received reports of an issue wherein players experience this after pressing Shift or Caps Lock while using a mouse and keyboard. If that is what you're experiencing, then rest assured we're investigating the underlying cause of this.

If what we describe above doesn't align with what you're experiencing, then please clarify if you mean to say you're character is experiencing random inputs when using a mouse and keyboard, or simply isn't able to move or interact with anything. We'll then review and see what other details we may need for our investigation.

  • I opened the game, no click of shift or caps lock, and just even in the inventory, I am experiencing input lag and trouble navigating menus. Sometimes it takes multiple clicks to change menus. Sometimes the clicks do not register at all. The same goes for navigation using the keys on the keyboard. Please let me know what information you need from me and I'll gladly provide it!

  • Edit: I have ensured every potential overlay on my computer. Clipstudio, Razer Synapse, MSI Afterburner, GeForce NOW, Discord, Steam, etc. Nothing. I have also tried not touching my space or caps lock bars from PC boot, and still nothing. Drivers are up to date. I have tried using only the built-in monitor on my laptop to no avail.

I'm lost on any other fixes for this.

Please let me know what specs/information I can provide to get this fixed, and I'll gladly provide it.

Edit 2: I noticed that when I play on controller for some reason, the game caps at 30fps despite the fact that no FPS limitations have been put in place. When I switch to MnK, I get back up to 60 (the Hz I have my laptop capped at), but then I get the above issues. This alternation between 30 fps on controller vs 60 on MnK is very sporadic, and after some fanagling, I managed to get the game running at 60 fps on controller. I don't know if this is related, but I thought I'd point it out.

    Here are my PC specs:
Asus ROG Zephyrus Gaming laptop 2021, RTX 3060, AMD Ryzen 9, playing on the attached laptop monitor, plugged in.

Edit 3: After an absolutely insane rabbit hole of troubleshooting, I'm done. I've changed input settings in Steam, Windows, Marathon's game files, throttled DPI on my mouse, adjusted NVidia GPU settings, etc. etc. etc. I'm done. I look forward to a patch in the future that HOPEFULLY addresses this issue, but I am not happy. I think the game is great, but this bug is ridiculous, as I've heard from a friend that it has been a recurring issue since the alpha ten months ago.

And even then, I get delayed input on occasion on my keyboard as well. I'm using a wired keyboard and wireless Razer Basilisk v3 mouse. That is the only conclusion I can come to. It is an issue with the wireless mouse. But my controller works just fine! Same kind of wireless input as well: Xbox controller with a USB receiver. I'm at a loss for anything else I can do. I look forward to a patch (if there is one). In the meantime, I'm done.
