Cheaters / MMR problem - Started off getting solid games, but then it feels like every lobby is full of cheaters

I’ve played nearly 40 hours during the Slam Test with some friends, and we’re all veterans of extraction and FPS games. At first, we had some great matches discovering the mechanics and exploring the map, but soon we started noticing increasingly strange things. Players were taking us out from long distances using the same weapons we had, yet their damage output seemed far higher than ours. We began losing fight after fight to highly suspicious players that at the very least, some seemed to be using no-recoil cheats.
After losing a lot, the matchmaking seemed to swing the other way, placing us in lobbies with inexperienced players. We’d get a few high-reward games with many kills, only to be thrown back into impossible matches against opponents using blatant hacks, like speed-hacking even while downed and fully geared in purple loot while we were stuck with free kits after losing lots of runs in a row.

We finally decided to stop playing after repeatedly encountering the same players who were very likely cheating, using no-recoils and radar hacks at the very least. Even though there were around 70,000 players on Steam at the time, we kept getting matched against the same teams, easily recognizable by their usernames, we even got killed four times almost in a row by the same two guys who kept rushing us carelessly.

With such a huge player base, how can we keep getting matched against the same players over and over?

From the beginning I was prepared to encounter a couple of cheaters, but at this point it’s hard to even enjoy the content because we keep getting hunted down from the start of the raid, most of the time feeling like getting 1v3. This takes me right back to Tarkov with my friends: non-stop losses, zero extractions. Then bam, a ban wave hit, extraction rates improved tremendously, and everything got way better. Wild to deal with this already in beta.

For now, my friends and I really enjoyed the game, and I hope they’ll be back for the launch. However, due to the issues mentioned above, we can’t enjoy it anymore and stopped playing, as the frustration and feeling of wasting our time became too high. Do you think these issues will be resolved so that my friends might be encouraged to play again?

Hopefuly someone from Bungie can use my profile to see my recent games to get some datas about MMR and review the statistics of the other players involved, I’m sure they’ll find several profiles that deserve a closer look.

Side note: we also played several duo matches, but were consistently matched against high-gear trios, which was really frustrating and hard.
