Problems with old account and crossplay

I used to have a Steam account that I linked to my main Destiny 2 account, but I no longer have access to it. The problem is that when I bought the game "Marathon," my beta progress disappeared, and my Bungie accounts aren't linked. I was hoping you could help me create a new Steam account, or perhaps create one myself and remove the old one.

Thank you very much. I hope this is possible, because otherwise I won't be able to access my progress. I no longer have access to the account I currently have linked because I changed my email address a long time ago.

    Due to mandatory security policy, We are not able to remove connected platform accounts from Bungie.net profiles under any circumstances.

    Please note:

    • If your account has been compromised, we are unable to assist you, and you will need to contact your platform's support. Account security is up to each player, and we encourage players to secure their game accounts by following our Account Security Guide so that they don’t have a chance to be compromised.

  • I followed the steps to disable crossplay but I haven't been able to make the change...
