Battle-eye silently fails at launch

Platform: Steam

Issue: After hitting launch, Battle-eye starts up and runs for a moment before quietly failing without sending any notice. I can see the process start in task manager, however it stops after 30 seconds. Steam goes back to launch from running. Have reinstalled but it did not help.

Reproduction: I have an older system but was able to participate in a prior tech test just fine.
