Bungie name changes are bugged. My incorrectly changed Bungie name "Logrus" is entirely fictional and not offensive in any language. This is a bug. This is happening to others players like me that have completely acceptable names like "Logrus". This bug is unacceptable and has yet to be addressed.

We've received numerous reports of name changes prompted by the Server Slam, and are investigating further.
That said, please reach out to us via this contact form and select "Bungie Name was changed" as the reason for your request.
My name has also been changed to Redacted. My name is Kitchel and has been my online name for years. My name changed the moment I launched the Marathon Server Slam client. This has to be a bug.
Logging into a new game forces a name check against some sort of filtering they seem to have. A lot of users are getting flagged appropriately because the naming policy says you can't have any identifying information in your Bungie name. Things such as first/middle/last names, address info, email, probably DOB info as well. You can make an appeal, if anything a surge in appeals will probably flag Bungie to look into their automatic name filtering rules.
my name was also changed to redacted. Based on the OP, looks like they got thier name back.
