In-game voice chat isn't working.
My Bungie id is bbuck002#3290. I'm on PS5 disc version. I can not hear anyone in gamer voice chat in matchmade lobbies. I am unsure if anyone can hear me, but I do not believe they can. All of my sound settings for voice chat are turned on and to open mic. My mic is not muted in the lobby or in game. I can see the mic icons flash like other people are talking and I can see my proximity chat icon light up. But, I can not hear anyone. This was not a problem during my times in the technical tests. I talked to plenty of people in game in matchmade lobbies. I can talk to friends through discord while I'm in game. I have SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 headphones connected through the 2.4ghz dongle. I have not tried taking with in game chat while friends are in the lobby. I will update this post when I can try this.
Edit: Solved- with all settings on go to users and accounts and restore the license for the game. It fixed it for me.

Try checking in your social settings that the voice input and output devices are set correctly
Both voice chat and proximity chat show on. And have been on this whole time. I've posted this on Reddit and there are others that are experiencing the exact same issue.
Same issue on PC. Have reset my default communications, audio, speaker and mic on settings. Have confirmed Marathon is set to these -- still not working. People can hear me, but I can't hear them. I know this because I see their voice chat icons on screen, but no sound. Similarly, I ask if they can jump up/down if they hear me but they aren't able to do it.
I'm using Airpods, but the same issue impacts the Xbox headset I use on my PC sometimes. Hope this gets fixed soon, I love the game but this blows.

I am experiencing the same issue. All my settings are correct, but I can't hear anyone and I confirmed with a friend that they can't hear me. When I chat over Discord, I have no issues.

on Steam, using Bluetooth airpods. team and prox chat can hear me but I can't hear other players.
settings are correct.
I'm on pc, I can also not hear chat but they can hear me on vc. I have a sony blue tooth headset, and can hear game normally. all settings should be correct.
ok. I figured out a resolution, but you aren't going to like it.
First, you have to figure out how to open the old Devices and Printers menu.
For Windows 11 I had to open the Run menu (I think it's windows+r) and then pasting this :
shell:::{A8A91A66-3A7D-4424-8D24-04E180695C7A}
and pressing enter opens the menu.
Now you right click the headphones, go to properties. In properties go to the services tab and uncheck Handsfree Telephony. Apply and Okay.
Now you can hear! Oh, that just made windows stop using your headphone mic...
I plugged in another mic.
It's not a great solution, but I can finally use game chat.
I tried that to no luck, my mic keeps saying there is sound coming out of game even though I am not speaking and I still can't hear other people. And it is like they aren't covering this topic at all. I am very mad about it; I have even tried to reach out on Instagram to no help from the team.
I don't know what to do at this point.
