The game doesn't start

when starting the game via steam, the BattleEye launcher appears for 10 seconds and disappears, and the system supposedly loads something, but after 10 seconds the game launch is interrupted without any errors

  • I've had this same issue trying to get relatives to play the game

  • There's quite a few posts reporting the same issue. Posting system specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, possibly motherboard) and operating system could be helpful.

  • Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues launching the game. We'd start by recommending that you verify the game file integrity through Steam to see if it helps. If that fails, we'd recommend trying to reinstall the game. If you continue to have issues, would it be possible to get a copy of your DxDiag and paste it over on PasteBin and send us the link?

  • I've tried all the methods, but nothing worked. Here's a link to the PasteBin: https://pastebin.com/2sfk3nNT

  • I have heard that BattleEye now requires AVX2 technology, but not every processor has it, and if the processor does not have this technology, then the BattleEye process simply ends, since it does not start the Game without it, If this is true, then it is precisely because of the lack of this AVX2 instruction set for the processor that the game will not start

  • I have the same problem, but I noticed in Windows, the error "bad_module_info" appears in the event viewer when trying to fix it, nothing changes, and the error itself cannot be fixed. Kurami please take a look do you also have this error when starting the game

  • I tried it again and looked at the event viewer. It's also spitting out "bad_module_info" with a placeholder error code.

  • I'll explain what the problem is, because it turned out to be true, Bungie updated BattleEye before the release of the server slam marathon and from that moment on it requires an AVX2 instruction set, if you have a processor on sandy bridge or avx1, then the game simply won't start, and roughly speaking, they buried a lot of processors that don't have AVX2, even though Despite the fact that many processors that do not have this set of instructions are relevant and are still in use today, I would certainly like Bungie to remove this requirement, because because of it they lose a lot of people with the purchased game

  • Has there been any word from anyone aside from rumours on this? Like, an actual source? Also, wouldn't it be Marathon that requires AVX2 and not BattlEye? Because BattlEye does start without issue and launches the game. Still works for Destiny 2 as well.

  • It was added only to marathon, because marathon algorithms require high-performance operations on large arrays of both sound and image, which AVX2 handles best of all, and apparently because of this, the choice fell on just the same

  • and as for identifying exactly the AVX2 requirement, users with AVX2 easily log into the game and reach the home screen, while players using sandy bridge or avx1 cannot go beyond BattleEye, even I personally checked this with my friend, who has a processor with an AVX2 instruction set, and I had at that time sandy bridge

  • Am I correct in understanding that if you have an old PC, it means you can't play, or do you have to wait for a fix from the developers?

  • That's right, if you have an old PC, you won't be able to play
