Lets make the Game better together!

Good afternoon, friends!
My name is Nikita, from Russia. I'm a Marathon player, my nickname is  Zp1k#4865. I'm 35 years old and I love computer games, especially extract shooters. But not Tarkov. I love Call of Duty DMZ and Marathon.
For the last month, I've been very worried about the game's future. Online traffic has dropped, something players are talking about on forums and in gaming groups.

I've also noticed that the game is cool, but I don't understand why I'd want to return. I'm drawn to it, but I don't want to stay in it for more than a couple of runs.

So, I decided to write you a letter in the hopes that you'll read it and take it seriously. I'm just a casual player, but I wish you success in developing this potentially awesome game. Let's get started.

This is a paid game, but it should also generate revenue for online players, and I believe making it free to play will bring in more online players. Moreover, I'm absolutely convinced that the game should be based on Battle Pass and game skins, which is currently being fixed because many skins at the beginning were just color changes. That's stupid and no one will pay for that.
They will pay for unique and special skins with new details, which separates them from quest skins. This is starting to be fixed, but the funniest thing for me is that when a skin appears in the store, you don't even have an indicator in the store for me to go there and check it out. I only find out about the skin from the Telegram group!!
You need to introduce indicators in the store so I KNOW there's something new and WANT to check it out, otherwise this is pointless.
Further thoughts won't be entirely constructive because I'll be collecting all my thoughts and writing them down here. In the last update, they changed the icons for the head, body, and legs again, and again it's not clear which one belongs to which cell. The best solution was to separate them, the top center, and the bottom with a visual image. It's immediately clear which is which, but to be honest, I never put these builds together, I just pushed them in to have them. This needs to either be removed completely or really worked out so that it makes sense and doesn't force you to read every point whether it's needed or not. (Intuitively understandable)
The weapon meta is changing, but one thing remains: shotguns. Yes, they're necessary, but it's stupid that I start with open maps where I use every weapon in my arsenal and end up playing Cryo Archive with shotguns and domes. The point of other maps is lost, which means that if I don't have friends who actively play Cryo Archive, I have nothing to do. It's as if playing the first maps means there's no loot or interest, because you're directly implying that the final map is Cryo Archive. This shouldn't be the case. Closed maps immediately eliminate sniper rifles and make shotguns dominant. This quickly becomes boring and makes you lose interest.
People are willing to help with quests, which is great. It's clear that someone needs it, which is a plus. But why do quests to gain sponsors? The only useful thing it unlocks is a free first aid kit. The rest (in general) seems like a waste of time to me because leveling up the Shell is much more important.
I think the Battle Pass is very small, short, and empty; you can close it in a week of inactive play. This shouldn't be the case. I should always have quests waiting for me to come back and level up for a long time. That's the key to player retention. I haven't played much yet, but I have no desire to go there because I feel like there's nothing to gain there, knowing I'll end up in Cryo anyway, and then it's shotguns and shields again. I want to play all maps with equal weapons and quests.
Sponsored survival, remove it as soon as possible. What's the point of playing a game if you go and play with bots and get everything for nothing? Where's the threat? Where's the excitement? This is childish babble, and it's only interesting to those who don't play games at all. Your game is about PVP, not PVE. Those who complain about PVE will be the first to leave, and PVP players are the core of the current game.
Increase the TTK, remove the powerful Shotguns, people will survive more often, and therefore play more. ONLINE RETENTION IS VERY IMPORTANT. I have to want to do something and come back to the game.
You have gorgeous visuals, unique design, gorgeous sounds, gorgeous gunplay, and excellent music. The problem is that I have to READ the lore in the codex. I want to see or hear it through dialogue and quests. Then sponsor contracts will become more interesting. Add more quests, small ones, but thanks to them, give me lore. I don't want to read WIKIPEDIA. I tried, but I'm bored, I'm losing interest. We live in 2026, the world around us is such that we receive information very quickly. It accompanies us in our daily routine, and it should accompany us in the game; we shouldn't waste time studying lore.
Moreover, we shouldn't have to delve into shell enhancements, where even the icon doesn't tell us what they're for or where to place them. Even if I hover over them, it shows where, but I should be able to tell with my eyes whether I need them or not.
We need to speed up the player's perception of inventory content.
Playing solo is a travesty, especially against a large number of bots. It's hard, and there's no desire to go back. By the way, the DUO mode should have randomized modes. Why haven't they implemented it? Many games are more interesting when played in pairs.
It seems to me that there are a lot of activities on the maps that make sounds to understand who is where. This is necessary for PvP and to avoid boredom. I would add bots between locations so that there is shooting everywhere. On the one hand, it's bad when one team can kill everyone and loot the entire map. I think all players need to be equalized. I think shields create an imbalance: some are strong and some are weak. And NEVER think of making bullets that are weak, powerful, and strong like in Delta Force. Because when you're running around with blue bullets, you shoot and penetrate players. There's a battle going on. But as soon as you get the coolest bullets that kill with 1 bullet, the game turns into a cat and mouse game: who sees first and who shoots first? Everyone sits and is afraid to move so as not to lose theirs. And imagine that they also have the coolest armor? And you don't. I'm initially a loser. But if I have less time to play, yes, I'm less experienced, but I don't want to lose in armor, knowing that I can kill them, for example. I'm a strong player, but I started playing less because of work and family, but I want to continue doing this and not feel weak. Having an infinite number of self-requests is stupid. There should be a slot for it, one per match, period.
Speaking of Cryo, I completely don't understand these complex quests about what to carry where, where to run. I don't have time to figure it out. I came home from work and have two hours to play. It's very difficult. Many players simply don't want to think for themselves. It's a game, it should show you what to carry and where, and I, as a player, have to survive. But cluttering your head with complex quests isn't Destiny, it's a different game. Remove it and simplify it as much as possible. People will come back, believe me.

Thank you for reading this, and I wish you success in the game. Listen to the players: we're the ones giving money, and you're the ones earning it. Make me want to pay. Honestly, I haven't donated a single day since buying the game. For comparison, I bought all the expensive Battle Passes and skins in Finals, and I've spent over $700 in Warzone overall.
You don't have any interesting skins, and there's no notification in the store.

My in-game nickname is  Zp1k#4865. My email is flash785@inbox.ru. My Telegram is @Nikklu. I'd be interested in hearing from you. Maybe I'll come up with some new ideas and I'll write to you again. All the best!
And it also turns out that writing you suggestions for improving the game is very difficult. You need feedback from players directly and not on forums, right?

    Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas for Marathon!

While we appreciate your feedback, the best place to share it is on the Marathon Discord where our developers can see it, rather than our Help Forums. If you haven't already done so, please share your feedback and suggestions in the server's dedicated feedback channels.

    Thanks a lot!
