Inable to launch

To clarify everything: I have a low end device (Latitude 3440 provided by my place of education)

I downloaded Marathon on the 8th June during the open play week on steam. Then at the 9th the game stopped working all together (only an endless black screen after launch).
I thought it was because the OPW expired so I purchased the game since I was interested in the game itself, finding the experience intriguing. Though, no results......
Then I proceeded to verify game files (no erros), deleted Marathon and reinstalled it, updated windows, all my drivers and cleared my steam cahce and re loged into my account and tried to launch Marathon again, the Battleye launcher's text info it provided, it confirmed that there arent any files or apps on my pc that could interrupt the launching process... Same black screen.
Then I repeated the actions mentioned before 2 more times this day and still nothing was achieved. I realize that my current device's specs (Intel UHD and a mobile i5 13th gen cpu paired with 16gb ddr4) are very weak for overall gaming all together due to the absolute lack of a propre GPU.

But the game ran just fine around ~35fps on the lowest possible settings..... and other games with a similiar spec demand like Marathon run ~40-50fps on av.
Meaning that normally, even if my pc is quite weak, it WAS able to run Marathon. So I suspect its a server issue....?

THOUGH, if anyone has info about the problem its more than welcome. And Im willing to search with other people to get to a result.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

While it may be possible to play on certain laptop configurations, we do not officially support them per our Marathon Storage and System Requirements guide.

Because this is an unsupported platform, we’re only able to suggest basic troubleshooting steps here and can’t provide more advanced troubleshooting.

That being said, here are some steps you can try:

    • Update your GPU drivers to the latest version from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel.
    • Make sure the game is using the laptop’s dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics.
    • Set Windows and your GPU control panel to High Performance mode for Marathon.
    • Disable overlays and background tools such as Steam Overlay, Discord Overlay, GeForce Experience overlay, MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, and similar software.
    • Remove any overclock, undervolt, or third-party performance tuning settings and test again at default settings.
    • Fully restart the PC after driver updates, reinstalling, or verifying files.
    • Make sure Windows is fully updated.
