Thief Drone Altitude Lock / Tether Issue - MnK and Controller
Ok so I have been doing some testing with my hotkeys and I have noticed a strange interact that I thought I would bring up to the devs. I usually do MnK but I have been learning controller. I play on PC.
Anyway, on MnK it appears the Thief drone tether is locked to altitude control. This is why when you send out the tether your drone drops on MnK ONLY. My tether / altitude control is using left mouse button. However, you have a different interaction on controller (I'm using PS5 dualsense).
On controller my altitude lock is R2; however, unlike MnK it doesn't shoot the tether out. But if I press my equipment button (double press circle) it sends out the drones tether and doesn't drop it to the ground.
My suggestion: remove Altitude control from both inputs. However, if you want to keep it in for those niche use cases.... Then the Craft Secondary Action needs to work. Right now that hotkey doesn't work on either input but would be an awesome place to put the drone tether on that hotkey. Personally I like how it works on Controller. Altitude Lock and Drone Tether as separate keys. On MnK it needs to be separated into two keys. Hope this helps.

Bungie Support I will be uploading the videos to this thread shortly. One thing I noticed is that some keybinds specifically the secondary craft ones don't seem to work on any input. I would think the keybinds you would set for the craft would override what is default. Even with default settings some keys don't seem to be working at all. On mouse and keyboard some seem to be doing double functions (MNK Tether and altitude drop). Hopefully the videos help show what I am experiencing.

Since you mentioned that Craft Secondary Action may not be working on either input, the most helpful next step is to check whether this is caused by custom binds or if it still happens more broadly. If possible, please try the following:
The most helpful thing to confirm is whether Craft Secondary Action still fails on a unique input, and whether the drone still drops with default binds.
With default settings tether is using left mouse click or R1 on Controller which is not a setting you can set in game. Videos are being uploaded to Youtube as we speak.

Bungie Support I'm still trying to get my keybinds down for what I want for controller. But it is hard to know what to change it to without causing issues.It does appear that one keybind doesn't work period and then there is a hidden one that is tied to a different hotkey you can't set
On both inputs Craft Secondary Action does not work no matter which key is applied.
On MnK the tether hotkey is tied to the Fire Hotkey.
On Controller R1 despite not being shown in keybinds is used for tether This also happens to be the equipment key. Also by default the quick ping is D Up....... but in drone it works AND it is also on R3 press. If you double press R3 it does a caution ping
