insane input delay

only when im playing this game, i get unplayable amounts of input delay with only my keyboard. my mouse works fine and in menues it does not happen. as soon as i load into match my runner will move after im done pressing keys, not move when im pressing keys, use abilities that i have not pressed yet. the keyboard delay happens to my whole pc. only happens on this game.

Could you try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Restart the game and your PC.
2. Confirm the issue only happens in a match, not in menus.
3. Switch between fullscreen, borderless, and windowed mode.
4. Unplug controllers or other extra input devices.
5. Try a different USB port or a different keyboard.
6. Close overlays and background apps like Discord, Steam overlay, Xbox Game Bar, GeForce overlay, and keyboard software.
7. Turn off Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, remaps, and macros.
8. Verify game files and make sure Windows and drivers are up to date.
If it still happens, please share the following details:
- Your PC specs
- Your Keyboard make and model
- Whether it happens every match
- Whether mouse input still works normally
- Whether it affects the whole PC
- Whether another keyboard or USB port changed anything
- A video of this happening in-game

i have done the following and none of it seemed to work for me. i have a recording of me being pinned to the wall after completing the list as well as a video of my keyboard working properly in other games. my pc specs are RTX 2070, i7 7700k, 32 gigs of ddr4 ram. my keyboard is a wooting 60 percent 2025

Hi there,

Thanks for trying all of those steps and for sharing the clips.

Since you’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting, the next thing we’d want you to try is testing a launch where you open MarathonLauncher.exe first before starting the game through Steam.

If possible, please also let us know whether you’re on Windows 24H2 and whether anything is actively capturing or streaming the game window itself. That information would help narrow down what’s causing the keyboard delay.

The results stayed the same. however, I just realized that the game is using 96 percent of my CPU. I'm not sure if that's just how the game runs but that seems really high. I'm also still using windows 10 22h2 and never really thought about not being on windows 11 as a problem. do you think that is the issue? I also have no active screen recording software on by default

Thanks for confirming.

Since you already tried the standard troubleshooting steps, including opening MarathonLauncher.exe first, we do not need you to repeat those.

Marathon does work on Windows 10, so Windows 10 22H2 is not likely to be the issue by itself. At this point, we’d like to narrow this down further by checking for software that may still be affecting the game in the background, even when it does not appear to be active. If possible, please test with programs like Discord, OBS, MSI Afterburner / RTSS, Nahimic, or similar overlay, capture, or monitoring tools fully exited or temporarily uninstalled.

If the issue still happens after that, please let me know:
- whether any of those programs are installed
- whether the delay still happens after fully closing or uninstalling them
- whether CPU usage is still reaching around 96% when the issue occurs

While it did not completely get rid of it, uninstalling discord significantly reduced it. Is there some sort of work around because have to uninstall discord to play a game is really unfortunate.
