Hi there,
Thanks for trying all of those steps and for sharing the clips.
Since you’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting, the next thing we’d want you to try is testing a launch where you open
MarathonLauncher.exefirst before starting the game through Steam. If possible, please also let us know whether you’re on Windows 24H2 and whether anything is actively capturing or streaming the game window itself. That information would help narrow down what’s causing the keyboard delay.
The results stayed the same. however, I just realized that the game is using 96 percent of my CPU. I'm not sure if that's just how the game runs but that seems really high. I'm also still using windows 10 22h2 and never really thought about not being on windows 11 as a problem. do you think that is the issue? I also have no active screen recording software on by default
Hi there,
Thanks for confirming.
Since you already tried the standard troubleshooting steps, including opening MarathonLauncher.exe first, we do not need you to repeat those.
Marathon does work on Windows 10, so Windows 10 22H2 is not likely to be the issue by itself. At this point, we’d like to narrow this down further by checking for software that may still be affecting the game in the background, even when it does not appear to be active. If possible, please test with programs like Discord, OBS, MSI Afterburner / RTSS, Nahimic, or similar overlay, capture, or monitoring tools fully exited or temporarily uninstalled.
If the issue still happens after that, please let me know:
While it did not completely get rid of it, uninstalling discord significantly reduced it. Is there some sort of work around because have to uninstall discord to play a game is really unfortunate.
