Unifying Account across all platforms

So a few days ago, I set about finishing setting up linking my Bungie account (this one I’m writing this from now), which is attached to my PSN account (my primary platform), to my other accounts like Steam and the like. This went well… until I hit Xbox. At which point I received an error that it was already connected to another Bungie account. I go and log into Bungie from my Xbox account and discover indeed, it looks like back in the tail end of the 360 (the last Xbox I owned), my Xbox account had been paired to another Bungie account. As best I can remember, what I think happened was when Destiny 1 had its initial free public sessions, my Xbox account must have registered the relevant account to play. Then, fast forward to Destiny 2 having its own free to play stuff when I’d switched to PlayStation as my primary platform… I wound up creating a second account via playing via PSN, creating a new, fresh account that over time became my primary Bungie account, particularly, well, the one I’m now using for Marathon, and have linked to my Steam and other platforms. Is there a way to unify my primary account across platforms, connecting my Xbox to the profile I’m actually using and will continue to use in the future? Or is it going to be stuck connected irrevocably to an old 2010s Bungie account I haven’t played on in a decade? Thank you for any help yall can give with this.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Due to mandatory security policy, Bungie is not able to remove connected platform accounts from Bungie.net profiles under any circumstances.
