Disconnected at 12.00 AM GMT+2 and lost everything

Today, May 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM (GMT+2 Europe), on the Dire Marsh map, after bringing the first, and likely only, golden key I’ll ever see in the game to a raid, after looting the room opened with the key, and after fighting another team, one of my two teammates and I were disconnected from the servers. It wasn’t a connection issue on my end, since it happened to my other teammate as well, and at the same time, on your Discord, many other people experienced the same problem.
I tried several times to reconnect but to no avail, while my teammate managed to log back in after a few attempts. I lost everything, both the team I brought into the raid and everything I had looted (I’m attaching two screenshots). Eventually, I managed to reconnect almost 10 minutes later, but by then I was already dead.
I’m not asking for everything back, but my economy in this game is already tough enough; I managed to craft the key template by extracting it from the previous match and was happy to finally be able to use a golden one. I’m just asking for a refund on the items I brought to the raid.
It's not a problem with my network, or anything like that, it's not a client-side issue. Both my teammate and I were disconnected, and a lot of people who reported this issue on both the forum and Discord were disconnected as well.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue.

    We’re not able to restore items or progress lost due to disconnects, lag, or other connection issues. In cases where a qualifying server‑side error happens, any refunds that can be offered are handled automatically by the game systems, not manually through support.

    In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them. 

    Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.

  • This is clearly a bungie error. Oh great we get the gear we went into raid with back. How about the gear we looted of other people?

  • Me and my duo also lost all of our good gear right before exfilling after doing a key-run. I really hope bungie does some research into what happened to the servers today as there are way too many people affected to ignore it and gaslight us into believing its our network or client that was the issue....
