Game won't get past the signing in screen

- Description of Issue - Game won't get past signing in screen
- Rough Date and Time of issue - last update at the end of March / start of April (Update 1.0.5.2)
- Repro steps -Just trying to play the game on a 4G/5G connection.
Tried everything on the network troubleshooting page and several other fixes suggested by people on the forum and on reddit, including: Reinstalling the game, making sure marathon is allowed through the firewall, disabling the firewall altogether, flushing DNS and resetting some stuff with ipconfig. Nothing works. Game used to work fine before that, every other online game I play still works fine, only happens with Marathon.
Using a VPN makes the game go through into the main menu, but won't connect to matches. Disabling the VPN while in the main menu will give a network error, go back to the start screen and then the game will get past the signing in screen without the VPN, but still won't connect to matches.

it opened up for me briefly right after last update now im back to being stuck on sign in screen
Same issue here, also on Steam. I originally reported it in a different thread a couple of weeks ago after the first update. I was previously able to get past the signing in screen by turning on a VPN. Since this latest update, that method has stopped working and I am stuck at the signing in screen.
