Experiencing issues with bluetooth audio

Issue:
When launching the game my bluetooth headphones automatically switch into handsfree telephony mode, making the audio sound awful to the point of ruining the experience and effectively making the game unplayable. This happens regardless of which input and/or output device is selected in Marathon's settings, or windows audio settings.
- I have disabled my headset's microphone in windows settings and set my actual microphone to be the default input device, as described in the troubleshooting guide. This does not fix the issue.
- I have disabled handsfree telephony in Windows Services. This does not fix the issue.
- I have disabled Bluetooth Audio Gateway Services in Windows Services. This does not fix the issue, and also introduces significant stuttering and buffering to the game making it unplayable.
- I have disconnected and reconnected my headphones multiple times. This does not fix the issue.
- None of the other fixes recommended by the community have worked.
The issue persists through restarts, and affects my entire desktop audio. I have seen reddit posts and forum posts complaining about this with no response from bungie support and no recommended fixes from the community that work. The issue also isn't listed in the known issues list linked on the forum.

yeah i literally cant play the game because of what i assume is the same error. its literally cutting in and out rapidly. its completely unplayable
The only thing that works is not having your input or output for voicechat be the bluetooth device, which means no voice chat. Ive also done all the solutions and the game bricks my audio driver and all of my pc audio gets cut every other second
I just fixed mine, the bluetooth telephony setting on my bt headphones was somehow turned on again in devices so i turned it off again and a restart fixed everything for me
