You can claim loaned items from the server slam
During the server slam I used the loan mechanic a few times and some of the times I didn't have space in vault so I didn't claim it. Now they are still there and I can claim them. I tested it by doing so and it worked they were in my vault.

Thank you for the report.
We've passed this on for investigation.
I also had this bug. Strangely the friend had logged off hours before me before the slam concluded. Yet the weapon (not a very good one but still) was returned to me when I booted the game for the first time since launch. Screenshot attached.
