Kills dont work on contract "no weapon cant fight"
this contract is bugged. not a single kill counted for it. both unsc bots and player kills and nothing counts.

Ditto. I got 1/5 on it (and at this point I'm not sure how), but no other kills since have counted.
Same issue here, but in addition to kills not contributing to progression (and inconsistent progress as well - a weapon brought from infil contributed to progress for me), looting arms lockers did not fulfill the first part of the contract. Something else triggered it to complete eventually.
I'm having the same kills not counting issue for the 2nd tier of this contract:
UESC and Tick kills both didn't contribute at all to the defeat hostiles with a weapon objective, even with an Enhanced Tier gun I looted from an arms locker in Hauler
