Base PS5 Hard Crashing and Powering Off
Adding this to bring more attention of the issue to Bungie. There seems to be an issue with this game and causing 1st gen disc drive PS5 to hard crash and shut down. My friends PS5 keeps crashing no matter what we try. We have tried reinstalling the game, clearing the cache, rebuilding the database, etc. No luck. Game crashes the console within an hour of playing. This really seems to be a marathon specific issue as no other game causes a crash.

We are tracking PS5 crash reports like this and actively investigating them, but we’re not able to restore gear or refund consumed keys lost due to crashes or disconnects from individual runs.
A couple of things that help the team nail this down faster:
Use the PS5 system crash report (when prompted after the blue screen) and be sure to leave it enabled for Marathon.
If you can reliably reproduce it (same map, point in the run, action just before the bluescreen), grab those details and a short video clip and include them in a report in the Marathon Help section.
Not worried about the gear, just hoping to get the issue fixed :)
Unfortunately there are no error messages from the console since the whole system shuts down. So far there is no indication of a specific map or action that causes the shut down. It has happened on every map. The shutdown usually occurs around the hour mark of playing.
We have been able to conclude that it is not an over heating issue. We cleaned the vents of the PS5 and tested for hours playing other games with no hard crash happening.
