Massive performance drop with mid-season update [from 60-120 fps to 20-30 again]

Predator Triton 500 SE 3070 11800H i7 16gb ram.  Advanced MUX which has its own complications but system information is vital if anyone can figure out what's going on.

700 hours on Marathon.  I started midway into season 1 and, unfortunately, had terrible fps despite my decent hardware.  Despite any other game I played being fine performance wise, Marathon I was struggling to achieve 30fps even with everything on low.  When S2 dropped, the update that came with it changed everything for me.  I was already in love with the game and managed to do compiler many times before S1 ended despite poor frames, then Frame Generation was introduced.  I wasn't aware until a player told me in match, I turned it on [despite a nvidia card the best combination was AMD FSR for AA and Intel XeSS for Frame Gen] and didn't initially see any change.  Well, my laptop has a GPU unhooking issue occasionally, so you have to Alt + Enter to fix that, and the moment I did this, watched my frampes jump to 100+.  I'd never seen this game moving that fast and if you want to talk about completely changing my ability to play the game, win gunfights consistently, and appreciate the detail of the environments, I finally felt that the fight for optimization was over and had faith future updates would only further improve things.  My performance increase remained for quite a while, and although you might think having to Alt + Enter every match would be annoying, I'd rather have to do that to fix my FPS than be stuck in 20-30 where everything feels jagged and like I'm moving through mud.  The last time I played funcitonal Marathon was Sunday before Cryo Archive went offline.  I don't play a lot during the weekdays anymore because Outpost red room has been insanely nerfed and it's not even worth doing command wing anymore, key rooms feel underwhelming and Cryo has been the only real chase for an "end-gamer".  I waited to log on Tuesday, excited to help the newbies get familiar with the vaults and enjoy the offerings, but it seems with this new update that made changes to the UI, my performance is now back to what it was in S1 even with Frame Generation enabled, and I can no longer play the game as I've been enjoying it for the last almost 2 months since Frame Generation was introduced.  I recognize "walking back" the update is impossible, but my concern is that this is the new "forever" with my machine and others who've been struggling to have a smooth experience.  I never really got help from the last time I reached out, and with all the layoffs and lack of communication lately, gotta be honest....I don't think this is getting fixed, and I think my "favorite" game of late to play, I have to walk away because it's unplayable again and I'm just missing out on the fun while other people aren't dealing with the issues and can just praise the content update.  Wish I was in that camp because again, I've been nothing but happy since the start of S2.  Now, I'm back to being frustrated with nothing I'm changing on my end fixing the issue.
