Changing stack size in on controller activates proximity chat

Hi there,

This seems more like an oversight than a bug. While increasing item stack size in-game, proximity chat toggles on/off.

Since they use the same default binding (right d-pad), it appears being within an inventory does not supersede or disable the prox-chat input.

Conditions to recreate require proximity chat be set to toggle instead of hold, then press right d-pad while in an inventory (I've only tested this in a backpack, so that is potentially the only inventory effected). Thus, prevention methods include swapping to hold or pressing PTT key after exiting backpack.

Playername/ID: Boon of Aurash

Platform: PS5

Description: Above

Date/Time: Noticed since launch, only realized the cause on Monday, May 18th

Reproduction Steps: Above

Links: None, but could create one on request I guess?

Edited to include the sections requested by the bug report guide; looked at known issues and reported bugs to ensure it wasn't submitted yet but I posted it on reddit so who knows?

While I have your time, I love the game, I love the way you guys jump on community issues, the way you manage the less legitimate criticisms of Marathon, and I love YOU for taking the time to read this.

Have a great day!

p.s. pls give the person who brought back the MIDA Multi-Tool as the Strider a big kiss on the forehead

  • Hello there,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Proximity Chat being activated when you're changing the stack size in-game. Please note that, by default, the input to use Proximity chat, while the same button, differs in activation. The change from hold to toggle is causing this to occur, as changing the stack size does indeed require the same input.
