Error code currant

My friend has tried to play marathon multiple times in the server slam and every time we readied up it gave him error code currant and me ginger. He was not able to play a single game during the server slam besides the tutorial. Now that the game has released he wanted to try it so spent the $40 button launched the game and instantly errored with Currant and he can’t even play the tutorial so he refunded the game. Is there anything that can be done I’d really like to play this with him. Multiple other games such as: Overwatch/Deadlock/Marvel Rivals/League of Legends work with absolutely no issues it’s just when he goes into a game in Marathon. He can connect to the main menu fine. Issue happens no matter who is hosting. We’ve tried checking his antivirus he only has MS Defender, He restarted his pc, repaired steam files, flushed dns, and other possible solutions we found online with the same issue. If there is anything that can be done to increase compatibility during game launch that would be great especially as no other titles have this issue.

    Hey there,

    CURRANT is a networking error that means the game client failed to connect to the dedicated server it was matched to.  


    A few things to try:

    • Restart everything
    • Fully close Marathon, then reboot your PC/console and router. A simple restart cleared CURRANT for a lot of players. 
    • Check your network path
    • If possible, use a wired connection instead of Wi‑Fi.
    • Disable any VPN or proxy and try again.
    • Check security software (especially on PC)
    • Temporarily disable or whitelist Marathon/BattlEye in any antivirus or firewall (Kaspersky and similar suites have come up in other connection issues).  


    If they keep hitting CURRANT after that, it helps the devs a lot if they include their platform, region, ISP, and whether they're using a VPN or third‑party antivirus when they report it.

    As for the error code GINGER, this error code occurs     when another player gets disconnected from matchmaking, in order to prevent the crew from entering a match without enough players. If you were getting GINGER and your friend received CURRANT, they will need to go through the above troubleshooting to help resolve the issue.

    I'll be refunding tomorrow if the game doesnt start working. I'm also having the currant issues. I have done his troubleshooting steps including: restarted my router, used my phone hotspot, verified game files, re installed the game, uninstalled riot vanguard and restarted, disable windows defender, set static DNS servers.

     

    Nothing has worked. I hope bungie fixes it, I would like to play.

     

    also funny little note: Currant is not even in bungie's list of error codes for this game.
