Launch fails
Same issue as in the server slam, I launch, Battleye silently dies and game doesn't start. I was able to play in the tech test just fine. I will be refunding after this.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Are you seeing any messages during the launch process that refer to your antivirus? If so, we recommend you try whitelisting Marathon and/or BattlEye to see if the situation improves. If it doesn't, we ask that you please capture a video that shows the issue occurring. You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here and we’ll be glad to take a look.
People complained about this during the server slam with multiple threads but they didn't care. Glad I didn't buy the game cause it would happen exactly the same thing.
Having the same issue (replied on two threads reporting this issue during the server slam, but those are apparently "Pending Approval" for some reason?)
BattlEye pops up, says "Launching BattlEye service, Updating, Launching the game", Game process launches, CPU usage of the game process goes up to around 15%, back down, then the process disappears and Steam shows that the game is not running anymore. I tried verifying the game file integrity, re-starting Steam, re-starting the computer, re-installing BattlEye, disabling Steam Overlay. Destiny 2 is running on my system without issues at nice framerates. GPU drivers are up to date (Nvidia driver 582.28).
Latest time I've tried this is 05.03.2026 at 19:34 GMT+1, if that helps. Bungie Name is Rothryn#8219.
Specs:
CPU: i7 3770k (quad core with hyperthreading, 3,9GHz)
GPU: Asus Nvidia GTX 1080 Strix 8GB
RAM: 32GB DDR3 2133Mhz
Mainboard: Asus Maximus V Gene
OS: Windows 10 on the latest update
Would love to play this game and I hope this gets resolved quickly. ^^
This is all I get, no error message, no antivirus or defender popup. Battleye starts up and then silently dies from my task manager after a couple seconds. I meet/exceed the requirements for my system, but if you need specifics I can let you know.
Thank you for actually reaching out Bungie, I was able to play during the second tech test just fine so I am confused as to what may have changed.
Same here. I'm so disappointed
I'm having the same issue as well. I have a very similar hardware profile to Rothryn, above: CPU: i7 3770S; GPU: GTX 1080ti.
Is my system simply incompatible since it's pre-Haswell?
Please provide an update in case I need to refund the game. Thank you.
My systems has Avx support, but if Avx2 was required that should be noted in system requirements.
