Subject: Feedback and Bug Report – Input Method Crash, Performance Issues, and Matchmaking Balance

I would like to report several issues I have experienced while playing Marathon. I hope this feedback can help improve the experience for players.
1. Input Method Crash (Hardware / System Issue)
For players using non-English input methods (especially Chinese input methods), typing in chat with these input methods can cause the game to crash immediately.
This problem may affect many players from non-English-speaking regions.
2. Performance and Possible Server Issue
In some specific areas of the game, players may experience sudden frame drops and sometimes get snapped back to a previous position.
This behavior looks similar to network lag or server desynchronization. However, my network connection is stable and running at full speed, so it may be related to server performance or synchronization issues.
3. Matchmaking Balance (Game Mechanic Suggestion)
In random matchmaking, players with very high-level gear can sometimes be matched against players with much lower-level equipment. The power difference can be extremely large and makes the match feel unfair.
It might improve the experience if the matchmaking system could separate players more clearly, for example:
- Players using sponsor packages or starter equipment could be matched together.
- Players with high-tier gear could be matched with others who have similarly powerful equipment.
This could help make matches more balanced and enjoyable for all players.

For the issue you describe experiencing when using non-English input methods, could you kindly let us know what some of those inputs are, and clarify if you know of other languages which are impacted apart from Chinese? In addition, please let us know if you see any error messages when experiencing the crashing you describe. We'll then review, and see what other details we may need for further investigation.
Hello, I am a player from China. As far as I know, most Chinese players use Sogou Pinyin Input Method, which is a third-party Chinese input method. I have also tried using the Microsoft Chinese Input Method that comes with Windows 10.
However, when using either Chinese input method, as soon as I press the Enter key, the game immediately freezes. The screen stays frozen for about 5–15 seconds, and then the game crashes instantly.
When using the Microsoft English input method, this crash does not occur.
As for other non-English languages, this is only my speculation. Based on how Chinese input methods work, I believe that other non-English input methods might also have the possibility of causing crashes.
