Black Screen of Death

PLATFORM: Xbox Series X

ISSUE: Black screen freeze after matchmaking loading screen, resulting in phantom raid participation, team elimination, and total loadout loss despite never entering the match.

REPRO STEPS:

1. Queue for matchmaking with selected loadout.

2. Loading screen completes (shows matchmaking progress).

3. Screen goes completely black; music continues but no inputs work (no menus, no team display).

4. Waited approximately 10 minutes with no change.

5. Force-closed game from Xbox dashboard.

6. Relaunched and was loaded into run recap screen: showed “team eliminated” after 8 minutes in match, all gear/loadout lost. Does not show other runner’s usernames.

ACTUAL RESULT: Stuck on black screen indefinitely. After force-quit and relaunch, recorded as full raid participation with gear loss despite never loading into map or seeing teammates.

EXPECTED RESULT: Either load into match successfully, or safely disconnect/back out to menus without gear penalty if server-side issue prevents client load-in.

NOTES:

• Occurred Sunday March 8, 2026 around 2:15-2:30 PM EDT

• Music was playing during black screen.

• No in-game way to exit or report from black screen state.
