Error Code: Weasel Kicking Me Out Every 45-60 Seconds

Description of Issue - About 45-60 seconds after launching the game and loading into the introductory tutorial, there is a red error that overtakes my screen with error code weasel.

Repro steps - To reproduce this issue, you have to launch the game, wait for the splash screens, begin the tutorial, and 45-60 seconds into the tutorial, I am kicked off/out with the error code, and taken back to the home screen where it says "Press (mouse1) to continue."

Extra Info - I am on Windows 10 (22H2 build 19045.6937), with a wired connection, and have no connectivity issues in any other game/application, only Marathon. I have played Destiny 2 on the same setup a handful of times previously and never encountered this issue. This error code of weasel was originally fixed on day 2 of the server slam, but was reverted/not implemented into the final/full game. This issue has been persistent since launch day and I have yet to be able to play Marathon, still. It's extremely frustrating having to check the forums, Steam updates, and Bungie Support Twitter for an update on a fix being implemented, and still not being able to play 3 days after launch.

If you haven't already, we'd recommend checking out the Help Article we have for this particular error code to see if it helps resolve the issue. If the issue persists, we've received some reports of elevated instances of this error code and we are investigating the underlying issue.

  • Have exact same issue, even if you skip tutorial and get into the loadout/menu it still kicks you out with weasel error. Issue is obviously with the game because there are hundreds of people on this, steam forums and in discord. Different locations, different OS (10 or win11) different system, different internet providers, countries. Same issue. Had nothing better to do today so tried to fix it with all possible solutions, talked to a lot of people in discord with same problem. A lot of them did everything and even reinstalled windows from scratch which didnt help.

     That can only mean issue is with the game. A lot of them refunded, i will refund tomorrow if i won't be able to play this weekend, no reason to wait week to play seasonal game after week of release.
