Sound Dampening Issue
During the server slam my friend and I both experienced some sort of in-game sound dampening once we began using the in-game voice chat to communicate with each other.
Once we stopped using the in-game voice chat (I muted my mic so I could still hear the random people we partied with) and returned to Discord for voice communication, the in-game sound returned to normal. It was almost like the in-game sounds would dampen so that I could hear my friend talking while we used the in-game voice chat. This made it incredibly difficult to hear important game noises, such as footsteps. Therefore, we returned to Discord.

This occurred on 2/28/26 around 10 PM EST.
Still happening on launch 3/5/26.
The issue is best explained like proximity voice chat is being applied to my party voice comms.
When my teammate is farther away, his voice quality and sound volume of his voice is decreased.
Once I get closer to him, his voice quality and sound volume will raise back up.
This is happening for both me (steam user) and my buddy (ps5 user).
We are both using open mic.
Not once have I used proximity voice chat.
