LMG Gun Shield Not Working

On PS5, I often run into an issue where I am not able to turn on gun shield for LMGs. This happens at the start of a game if I bring in an LMG, or when I pick up an LMG in game. The gun will have a gun shield mod, but the option to turn on the shield does not appear in the bottom right, and pressing the button to turn on the shield won’t do anything. I’m not sure what the fix is exactly. I usually try dropping the weapon. Swapping the weapon slot. Removing and adding the shield mod. After a certain amount of time it will work but I’m not sure if it’s related to any of those actions. Is there a solution to this as a workaround until it’s fixed?
