Bungie ID: Creasybear#1054
When it occurred:
Consistently over the last few weeks, with a major spike in frequency around late April (coinciding with the 1.0.6.1 update period) and continuing into my recent sessions.
What timezone you're in:
Pacific Time (PT)
A description of what happened:
I am experiencing severe, persistent rubber banding and desynchronization during matches, even though my local home network is completely stable and high-speed.
The desync is particularly brutal during high-stakes moments. I will frequently rubber band backward mid-sprint or right as I am attempting to jump a platform with Thief’s grapple. It has made combat outcomes feel incredibly inconsistent—on my screen, I am landing shots or successfully breaking line of sight, but the server seems to register me standing out in the open, leading to sudden, delayed deaths. This is especially frustrating when trying to progress through high-intensity areas like the Cryo Archive, where a single split-second network hitch means losing all my gear.

I'm thinking it could be my own internet issue because the England/Argentina semi-final match was on at that time, and my mobile cell, i'm connected to, could have been overloaded. I live in the center of Berlin.

I do not have issues with lag spikes in the game. I do however have occasional moments when specific circumstances cause the game to rubber band slightly. This can happen when hitting tiny lips of geometry or going over something and clipping my feet. It is a major problem when a bot lunge melees me while Im sprinting. Upon getting hit, I'll be able to keep running past them, and then about half a second later, I will teleport back ~5-8 feet behind where I was when I got hit. The circumstances that these happen in, given my lag free experience 99.9% of playtime, feels very much like there are scenarios where the client and the server are designed to react in different ways to "stimuli", for lack of a better word, and after a very short moment, the server yells at my client, setting me to where it thinks I should have been.
I do not currently have a clip of the melee teleport, but I did experience a toe clip rubber band in my session a few hours ago. Note that I do have my FPS counter enabled in the top right in case this may be a framerate based physics issue. Though I do have frame gen on, so Im not sure how useful that framerate display would be for discerning that.
