PC shutting off when marathon application is open
Hey, been having an issue, I originally got marathon on Xbox and wanted to stream it, so I bought it for PC as well to support the devs more, but I've been having weird issues, firstly, I would be in the middle of runs when suddenly my PC shuts off completely and doesn't start back up, and when you turn it on, it doesn't give a blue screen that there was an error or problem with the PC, I kept playing runs to figure out if it's a me issue (PC performance) or a software issue with the game and/or my applications in the background but they would just happen so randomly sometimes in 30 mins, sometimes 1-2 hours. Secondly, which happened today and why I'm bringing this up on here, but now it shut the PC off on the main menu after the run was already over. I have Discord, Two browser tabs, OBS streaming, NordVPN on and sometimes the AMD Software to test temps, and drivers are all updated. I hope this can help the team and hopefully help me keep streaming the game, keep up the good work!
P.S. Sadly it only happens with Marathon, I play lots of other games on the PC as well such as Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 6, Marvel Rivals, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to give such examples they are pretty heavy use games.

Hello there,
Thanks for the detailed report.
There are already similar Marathon PC reports where the whole machine fully crashes or reboots instead of the game simply closing, including cases that happen in menus, loading, and during runs while other games remain stable.
The “no blue screen, PC just shuts off” part is especially important, because that usually does not point to a standard client crash by itself. In similar support discussions, the recommended next step was to check Windows Event Viewer for the exact system error around the shutdown so the team has something more concrete than “the app closed my PC.”
Your background-app list is also useful context. Marathon has had known PC issues when OBS or Discord are directly observing the Marathon process, especially with application capture / app-specific sharing on external retail builds, where players have seen major client instability, input problems, and other bad interactions that do not reproduce the same way on every setup. There have also been separate reports of specific PC peripherals or audio-device setups causing Marathon crashes or even BSOD-level failures on some systems.
It matches the kind of severe PC-side Marathon reports that have already come in, and the most useful follow-up would be any Event Viewer error details plus whether OBS/Discord were using app capture versus full-screen/display capture when it happened.
Okay, once I get home from work I’ll take a look at the Windows Event Viewer and I am video capturing/streaming the application directly instead of the the monitor itself should I be just recording the screen itself rather than the application?
What exactly do you need from the event viewer? had a shutdown on my first run right now just want to send over the right stuff so I can get this fixed asap
