Unable to switch weapons

On Xbox series s and using a controller, after the latest update, I am unable to switch to my secondary weapon. Reset the controls, changed them, uninstalled the game, reinstalled, nothing worked to restore functionality. When pressing to change weapons, switches immediately to knife and can’t switch to secondary. The only way is to view inventory, press y and return to game. When switching again from secondary, it switches to primary but you cannot switch back to secondary. Tried new controller and also didn’t work.
