Sign-in Loop: A working solution after a month of silence

[Note: This post will be deleted at the end of the season.]

Hi everyone,

After nearly a month of seeking help on this forum for the PS5 sign-in failure with no result, I’ve finally found my own answer.

The infinite loop at the sign-in screen is a global issue affecting both PS5 and PC. While many are still struggling, I’m sharing my setup as one confirmed way to bypass it. I hope this helps at least one fellow Runner get back on track.

The Solution: Bypassing the ISP/Routing Bug via a VPN Gateway

Since the root cause is likely a routing error between specific ISPs and Bungie’s servers, the most reliable fix is to "teleport" your connection using a VPN. Here is how I built my "VPN Gateway" without messing up my home Wi-Fi:

1. Hardware Needed:
-A PC (I used an Intel NUC with Windows 11).
-A USB-to-LAN adapter (to give the PC two physical LAN ports).

2. Physical Connection:
-Wall/Router → [Main LAN Port] NUC (connected to VPN) [USB-LAN Adapter] → PS5 (via Ethernet cable).

3. Software Setup:
-VPN: Use "VPN Gate" (SoftEther VPN) to connect to a stable relay server.
-Sharing: Enable "Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" on the Windows VPN Virtual Adapter settings, selecting the USB-LAN adapter as the target.
-PS5: Set up the connection manually. Assign a static IP (e.g., 192.168.137.100) and set the Default Gateway to your NUC's shared IP (192.168.137.1).

This setup forces the PS5 to communicate through the VPN tunnel, successfully bypassing the login loop. My mobile devices remain connected to the original Wi-Fi, unaffected.

To Bungie Support:
Your "assistance" was utterly useless, so no comments from you are necessary. Thanks for nothing.

See you on the track, Runners.
