movement keys getting "stuck"

Every time I play marathon, at some point I hear a windows ding sound and my movement keys lock up and my character will get stuck walking in one direction. I have sticky keys turned off and i've disabled the windows key as well with powertoys. I don't know what is causing this and I i don't know what is fixing it either, i will just spam wasd, shift and ctrl until it fixes itself. It happens fairly intermittently, and i've tried all available options to try and fix the issue in my settings etc.
is this a known issue for anyone else? has anyone solved this issue?

    Hi there,

     

    Thanks for reaching out, and sorry you’re running into this.

    We have seen a few similar reports where movement can stop responding, this is something we’re still investigating on.

    To help us further understand, could you reply with as much of the following as you can?

    • Platform & OS (e.g., Steam on Windows 10/11)
    • What you were pressing right before it breaks – especially if Shift, Ctrl, Caps Lock, Alt, or Alt+Tab are involved
    • Whether you have any Windows accessibility features turned on (Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, Toggle Keys, or similar), even if you think they’re disabled
    • Any other apps running that hook input (overlays, macro tools, screen recorders, FPS overlays, RGB controllers, etc.)

    If you’re able to capture a short video clip with audio that includes the Windows “ding” and shows the stuck movement, that would be extremely helpful as well.

    In the meantime, if this happens again, you can try:

    • Tapping W/A/S/D, Shift, Ctrl, and Alt a few times, or

    • Briefly Alt+Tabbing out and back in to the game

    These aren’t fixes, but they may temporarily restore control while we continue investigating. Thanks again for taking the time to report this and for any extra details you can share.

    I will try to capture a video of it happening the next time i play. thank you for the response.
