Co-Evolution 4/5 Second Step Bug
Hello!
I was completing a Co-Evolution 4/5 quest, and during the second stage, after receiving Symbiont 0.4, I didn't receive a notification that the second stage had been completed, causing me to get softlocked and unable to complete the quest. The screenshot below shows the Symbiont working on me.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Our team is already aware of this issue and are currently investigating. A current workaround is to re‑run Co‑Evolution 4/5 and make sure you’re the first (or only) player to use the Quarantine synthesizer when inserting your Bio‑Chain and completing the Symbiont step, so the quest can update correctly.
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for your patience while this is being investigated.
I am not sure if this is the exact same bug or not, but I will report my experience here due to its similarity.
Platform: PC
Shell: Thief
Match: Solo
On Co-Evolution 4/5 I successfully completed step one and headed to quarantine. I reached the synthesizer and input my cardio kick and bio-chain. The resulting quest item was dropped on the table, which I picked up. The self-injection animation played, triggering the audio cue that says something like "overheating may have unpredictable results" or what ever. Assuming I should proceed with the contract, I ran to the location on the roof of Quarantine that I know to be one of the locations I must visit, but no tracking indicator appeared on the HUD. I checked my inventory to see if any quest item still remained, there was none. I returned to the synthesizer and verified there was no quest item present, and also that my bio-chain and cardio kicks had been consumed. Then I looked at the contract tracker and saw that step two had not been marked as 'complete'.
I'm not sure if this is a relevant clue, but I noticed one other unusual bug about a minute prior to my entry into quarantine. When I neared quarantine, I deployed my thief drone to scout the building for enemy players. Upon activating the ability, the sound effects and animation of the thief deploying the camera both played, the camera began to dim as if transitioning to the drone's POV, but then it returned me to my normal character control. The drone had not been deployed, and the cooldown for the ability had not been triggered (as if I never pressed it at all). I was able to trigger it a second time and it performed normally. I mention this because it struck me that both my experience with the thief drone and the interaction with the synthesized quest item involve a character animation that takes over and then transitions to some sort of effect, and both of these animations seemed to not progress to the following stage.
In the response from Bungie support above, it is mentioned that perhaps another player interacting with the synthesizer could be the problem, but I'll mention that I was doing this in a solo match with no teammates, nor is the contract labelled "contested" so I wouldn't expect an opposing player to be able to interfere with my progress on it.
