Microphone detected, but not transmitting.

issue duration: constant, since launch
I have unmuted everything, my mic is detected, my push to talk is flashing up the icon for transmitting.
But it's not working. I have a Shure SM7B running through a motu M2 DAC and then processed via Steelseries Sonar.
I've also tested without Sonar routing/processing my input. The game detects a bunch of inputs: my webcam, steam streaming mic, Windows default comms, the Motu/SM7B, and my headphone amp's built in microphone.
Discord works while I'm in game, detecting my mic and using it as normal.
troubleshooting steps taken:
- restarted my dac after booting the game
- Tried windows default setting vs steelseries sonar vs motu as the input in game.
- rebooted everything (pc, dac, game, steam)
I don't know what's up. I want comms so I can chill with random teams not in text chat.
