Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out.
On PS5 that message usually means either the Marathon servers aren’t currently accepting connections, or your console/build can’t reach them correctly.
Check if servers are up
On your phone/PC, check:
@MarathonTheGame / @BungieHelp on X for maintenance or outage notices.
If they call out maintenance or server issues, it’s on our side; you’ll just need to wait until that’s resolved.
Make sure your PS5 has the latest Marathon patch
Highlight Marathon on the PS5 home screen → Options button → Check for Update.
Let any update fully install, then reboot the PS5 and try again.
If you pre-installed and launched before go-live, you can hit a “servers not available” error until the day-one update is installed.
Confirm PSN and your network are OK
PS5 Settings → Network → Test Internet Connection and confirm:
PSN Sign-In: Successful
NAT Type: 1 or 2 (open/moderate is fine)
If anything fails, fix that first (router reboot, ISP issues, PSN outage, etc.).
Full power-cycle
Turn off PS5 completely (not Rest Mode) and unplug it for ~1–2 minutes.
Power your router/modem off for ~1–2 minutes, then back on.
When the network is fully back up, plug in and start the PS5 and launch Marathon again.
I am on Ps5
