PS5 aiming feels delayed then overcompensates, input lag/delay issue?

Hey all, trying to figure out if this is just me or something with the game.

I’m playing Marathon on PS5 and aiming sometimes feels really off. When I move the stick, it feels like there’s a slight delay, and then it suddenly “kicks in” and overcompensates.

I'm using:

  • PS5
  • MSI Optix MAG272CQR
  • Running at 1440p / 60Hz (supports up to 165Hz)
  • Response time 1ms
  • HDR ON (also tried OFF, didn’t really change much)
  • Response time set to fastest
  • Controller wired via USB
  • Wired fast internet

So I don’t think it’s connection or obvious hardware issues. I also have the same rubberbanding issue as others.

Questions:

Is this a known issue on PS5? Is there a way I can solve this?

Are there recommended settings to reduce this?

Would love to hear if others are experiencing this or if there’s a way to make aiming feel more consistent 🙏

    Hello there,
    Thank you for reaching out.

We are aware of issues on the PS5 concerning rubberbanding and latency.
We are currently investigating these issues.

  • Thank you

  • PS5 rubber banding is insane made several posts about it. Thank god they acknowledge it as an issue and not a bad connection. They keep listing the same 2 useless articles about it almost every time. Also from my experience the final exfil makes things worse somehow.
