PS5 aiming feels delayed then overcompensates, input lag/delay issue?
Hey all, trying to figure out if this is just me or something with the game.
I’m playing Marathon on PS5 and aiming sometimes feels really off. When I move the stick, it feels like there’s a slight delay, and then it suddenly “kicks in” and overcompensates.
I'm using:
- PS5
- MSI Optix MAG272CQR
- Running at 1440p / 60Hz (supports up to 165Hz)
- Response time 1ms
- HDR ON (also tried OFF, didn’t really change much)
- Response time set to fastest
- Controller wired via USB
- Wired fast internet
So I don’t think it’s connection or obvious hardware issues. I also have the same rubberbanding issue as others.
Questions:
Is this a known issue on PS5? Is there a way I can solve this?
Are there recommended settings to reduce this?
Would love to hear if others are experiencing this or if there’s a way to make aiming feel more consistent 🙏

Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out.
We are aware of issues on the PS5 concerning rubberbanding and latency.
We are currently investigating these issues.
Thank you
PS5 rubber banding is insane made several posts about it. Thank god they acknowledge it as an issue and not a bad connection. They keep listing the same 2 useless articles about it almost every time. Also from my experience the final exfil makes things worse somehow.
