Marathon PC Performance Guide Causes Screen Bounds Issue
When using the steps outlined in https://help.marathonthegame.com/hc/en-us/articles/47626640740756-Marathon-PC-Performance-Guide I get a decent looking actual in game image for better frames but running my 4K monitor at a resolution below native 4K causes there to be an issue with the screen bounds area for the mouse being incorrect on the bottom and right edge of the screen. You can notice that the cursor goes off screen further than if you brought it to the screen bounds of the left and top side, and it also takes longer for the mouse cursor so show back up after mousing out of the screen bounds area. Should I be running my entire desktop environment at 1440p if I want to follow this guide for my particular PC?

Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out.
You shouldn’t need to lower your whole desktop to 1440p to use the performance guide — those steps are meant for in‑game video settings only (resolution, render resolution / scaling, DLSS/FSR/XeSS, etc.).
For now, please try:
Best option: Keep your desktop at 4K, set Marathon to 4K, and use Resolution Scaling / Render Resolution + DLSS/FSR/XeSS to lower internal render resolution for better FPS.
Alternate workaround: Temporarily set your Windows desktop resolution to match your in‑game resolution (e.g., 1440p).
If it still happens when desktop and in‑game resolutions match, send us your Windows resolution, in‑game resolution, display mode (fullscreen/borderless/windowed), and GPU so we can investigate further.
